MVL Thursday Roundup

Alex Solis and the Knights are still holding on in the MVL

Gabrielino 6 El Monte 1

The Eagles scored five in the fourth to break a 1-1 tie. Johnny Moreno had three hits and two RBIs and Angel Acosta struck out 12 in the complete game victory.

Rosemead 6 South El Monte 5 – 8 innings

South El Monte scored three in the sixth and one in the seventh to erase a 5-1 deficit before Rosemead pushed across one in the eighth to win it. Rafael Garcia singled to score his brother Armani Garcia for the game winner.

Paul Cruz struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth to close it out.

Mt. View 5 Arroyo 4

Arroyo let a 4-2 lead slip away when the Vikings got one in the sixth and two in the seventh to win it. After a win over Gabrielino last week the Knights have suddenly lost two straight and are holding on to a ½  game lead over the Eagles.

Arroyo has one game remaining at Rosemead on Friday. The game was supposed to be played last week but had to be postponed due to a flooded field. Should the Knights lose they would be tied for first with Gabrielino at 10-5. However Arroyo has the head to head advantage over the Eagles beating them two out of three.

MVL Standings: Arroyo 10-4, Gabrielino 10-5, Mt. View 9-6, El Monte 8-7, Rosemead 5-9, South El Monte 2-13.
