Game Night: Southeast Division – Week 3

Chaffey (1-2) vs Diamond Ranch (0-3) (Ganesha)

Last Year: Diamond Ranch 21-14

If you are just tuning in to the Panthers season, it’s the same old DR as they start the season 0-3. Last year, they entered the game against Chaffey 0-3 as well. The Panthers have dropped three games by a total of 27 points.

Diamond Ranch 28-21

Hoover (0-2) vs Mountain View (2-1) (Glendale)

Last Year: Mountain View 45-38

The Tornadoes haven’t been close in its first two games and face an improving Vikings team that will run all day and eat up valuable clock. Hoover will have to stop Ignacio Casteneda if they want to stay close early.

Friday, September 23RD

Crescenta Valley (1-1) at La Canada (1-1)

Last Year: Crescenta Valley 38-34

Falcons are still licking its wounds after a 35-0 drubbing at the hands of St. Francis last week, while the Spartans nearly were upset by Glendale. Crescenta Valley had too much trouble against the Golden Knights in its loss and committed too many penalties. Andy Painter sealed the win over Glendale with a touchdown last Friday.

Crescenta Valley 35-21

Glendora (1-2) at West Covina (2-1)

Last Year: West Covina 33-28

The Tartans finally got its first win of the season over a tough Colony team. Corey Victoria leads the team in rushing with 239 yards. Jimmy Frazier and Aaron Salgado have combined for 380 yards during the absence of Chris Solomon.

West Covina 28-21

La Salle (0-3) at Pasadena (0-2)

Last Year: Pasadena 33-16

Two teams desperately seeking a win prior to heading into league play. The Lancers were leading in each of its first two games only to get beaten in the second half. La Salle’s scoreless streak has reached six quarters. The Bulldogs were closer to a victory last week against Cathedral then its loss to Alemany. Brandon Cox will most likely have all day to throw.

Pasadena 49-0

La Serna (3-0) at La Mirada (0-3)

Last Year: La Serna 32-28

The Lancers squeaked by Bonita last week and must not turn the ball over against the Matadores. After facing some incredibly tough teams, La Mirada meets a Southeast Division opponent which is still rebuilding. Frankie Palmer will need to play a perfect game to help lead La Serna. Dallis Shipp leads all Matadores receivers with 13 receptions and two touchdowns.

La Mirada 28-24

Mayfair (1-2) at Valley Christian (0-3)

Last Year: Valley Christian 18-7

After facing two Pac-5 teams the last two weeks must be all smiles facing a Mid Valley Division team reeling to start the season. Jerry Smith and Christian Woo lead Mayfair in touchdowns with three. As a team the Monsoons have rushed for 684 yards. The Crusaders are led by two standout receivers in Brandon Bynum and LeWayne Wright.

 

Mayfair 35-21

Montebello (2-1) at El Rancho (2-1)

Last Year: El Rancho 29-9

Well the Dons are finding new and exciting ways to have its fans at the edge of their seats. El Rancho has rushed for 743 yards and Josh Lopez has five touchdowns and one interception in three games. Oilers are looking mighty impressive to start the season and hung with Arroyo in its loss. La Shawn Howard leads the team with 184 yards rushing.

Montebello 28-20

Temple City (0-2) at Arcadia (1-1)

Last Year: Arcadia 42-14

After a heartbreaking loss to St. Francis, the Apaches defeated Monrovia. A one-two punch of Sheldon McKinley and Rodney Arnett in the back field along with Myles Carr passing and all-purpose gainer Taylor Legace will make life tough for the Rams. Jamie Dea looks to be the next 1,000 yard rusher for Temple City and Mikal Quintanilla will need to be flawless.

Arcadia 35-7

Walnut (0-3) vs Covina (2-1) (Covina District Stadium)

Last Year: Walnut 49-42 (ot)

Last year’s game will be hard to replicate as the Mustangs are rebuilding and the Colts have Mid Valley Championship aspirations. Walnut’s receiving corp is led by Kyle Parisi with two touchdowns. Covina has a boat load of talent as Billy Livingston has targets everywhere to throw to. Livingston has 11 touchdowns with no interceptions.
