By Josh Ouellette

(Rosemead)- Temple City couldn’t stop the Panthers at Marinelli Stadium Friday night losing 35-9.

Rosemead opened up the game with the ball on their own 26 and used a combination of Matt Eddy and Andrew Gibson to beat the ball down the Ram’s throats. Gibson had a 28-yard run to break into the redzone, and two plays later Eddy scampered for 21 yards to paydirt.

Temple City drove the ball well on their ensuing drive moving the ball with Mikal Quintanilla passes and Jaime Dea and Roger Tsung runs to the Panther 14.

Quintanilla’s pass on the first and 10 was floated up into the end zone barely missing his receiver and landing in Christian Garcia’s hands. Garcia returned the ball to the ‘Mead 12.

The Panthers ran the ball twice following the interception. On the third play of the drive Rosemead quarterback Adan Guillen hit Garcia, this time lined up as a wideout, for a screen pass. Garcia beat the safety and sprinted down the sideline for the 76-yard score.

With 2:44 left in the first quarter the score the score was 14-0 all Mead.

After a Temple City punt the Panther’s Matt Eddy fumbled the ball on the following drive with TC recovering the ball in the redzone.

The Ram’s couldn’t move the ball and Freddy Malki came on to attempt and make a 27-yard field goal. 14-3 Rosemead.

Rosemead capped off a 4:01 drive in the second quarter with a three yard pounding into the end zone by Gibson.  They would ultimately score again in the quarter, this time on a 20-yard run up the middle for the score.

The score at the break, Rosemead 28, Temple City 3.

At the opening of the third quarter both teams traded turnovers on their first possessions.

It would take Mead until 1:11 left in the third when Guillen found a wide open Steven San Miguel for the 70-yard touchdown pass on a broken play by the TC defense.

The Ram’s offense would finally catch fire and score on a 77 yard touchdown drive with the punch in coming on a 3-yard run by Dea for the team’s only touchdown.

Temple City (0-5), will go back home for homecoming and try to right the ship in Rio Hondo league play against South Pasadena (3-2).
