Pool A:

La Canada 59, Ramona Convent 31

The Spartans sprinted ahead 21-4 in the first quarter and easily went on to raze Ramona Convent 59-31. Courtney Chen led LC with 16 points and hit a pair of threes along with Kasey Okazaki (8 points). Alyssa Miller sparked the Spartans as well and scored 10 along with Lauren Barsamian. Micaela Anderson accounted for all her 8 in the opening frame.

Catherine Yip piled on 12 of her 16 points in the third quarter to lead the Tigers.

L.C. : 21, 7, 23, 8 — 59

Hart 61, Franklin 37

Hart established command early and pinned Franklin beneath a 27-9 first quarter start before rolling on to the win.

Victoria Lionetti led everyone with 24 points and a trio of threes for the Indians, who also received contributions from Breze Kimble (9), Melissa Boscarino (8), and Cyndi King (7).

Franklin, held by Hart to single digits (9, 5) in both first half quarters, mounted an 11-2 rally in the third to trim into the wide gap. Kat Escobar led the Panthers with 12 points.

Pool B:

Arcadia 75, Golden Valley 43

Julissa Aguirre scored 17 of her game high 22 points in the first quarter to lead Arcadia, who was also backed by 15 from Melody Chang and another 11 from Heather Young. Michelle Lai and Christina Huynh both finished with 9.

Caitlyn Zindrowski led Golden Valley with 21 points.

Golden Valley: 12, 11, 14,   6 — 43

Arcadia:            26, 13, 23, 13 — 75

Moorpark 57, FSHA 40

The Musketeers blasted out a 24 point third quarter flurry to put away the Tologs. Moorpark dominated the post and was led by Jill Perkins’ 17 points. Arianna Halamandaris netted 13. The Musketeers’ established their perimeter shooting with Perkins, Mackenna Kawana, Lauren Quinn, and Paige Peel (two threes) all burying triples.

FSHA stayed within striking distance early on before yielding to Moorpark in the second half. The Tologs’ lead and lone double-digit scorer was Joy Fitzgerald with 13.
