Pasadena (6-5) scored a thrilling 54-47 win over a tough Downey (10-4) squad to reach the tournament championship of the Mt. Carmel Holiday Classic vs. the host Mt. Carmel Sun Devils.
The Bulldogs were led by Brandon Jolley (24 points) and Blake Hamilton (17 points). John John Haywood had 8. This was the third straight win for PHS. The Bulldogs who won their first two before losing 5 of their next 6 including a rough 1-3 finish at the St. Hope Elite Classic up in Sacramento.
Downey’s record dating back to early February of 2010 stands at an impressive 40-8 overall. The Vikings were led by Dakari Archer with 18 points.
