Always take the Corral over the Buffet...Especially in Virginia!

Always take the Corral over the Buffet...Especially in Virginia!

“The Across America Edition”

Good Morning!

T-minus-30 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Game Three: September 30, 1971 at Temple City

Mike Nanko ran for 106-yards on 23-carries and a touchdown as the Rams won their 19th straight (of 46 overall) in a 14-0 victory over Arroyo. TC quarterback Bill Wilson finished the scoring with short run in the fourth quarter.

It was the third meeting between the schools, and the third shutout.

I haven’t made an appearance on “The Mid Valley Sports Show” since July 22, and done a whole show since July 15…Yet last night the fellas had the biggest show ever…Who needs me…

Made it to colonial Williamsburg yesterday, right next to historic Jamestown, and only a stone’s throw from Yorktown and did the appropriate thing…we hit the Golden Corral.

Am I making too much of the Golden Corral? Isn’t it just another Hometown Buffet?

No, anyone who has been to both know there is no comparison. We went yesterday, family of five, to the Corral and fed everybody (all you can eat) for 32-bucks…I am so down with the Corral…

The weather caught up with us last night…lightning, rain, 80-degree heat…beautiful.

Drove through Maryland again and realized I’ve never really been to Maryland…Does anybody go to Maryland? Stopped at a Roy Rogers once…What is Roy Rogers think a hybrid of Del Taco, Arby’s, and the McDonalds breakfast menu…yeah…moving right along…

No toll roads…One of many things to like about old Virginia…

The local sports report last night did a football break down on Norfolk State, Old Dominion, and William & Mary… It’s tough not having a USC for these folks…

Went through the William & Mary campus…founded in 1693, Phillie southpaw Jamie Moyer was a member of its initial graduating class…

Might do something really out of the ordinary on Thursday and catch the NFL game in a sports bar…Where I’m staying in Four Oaks, North Carolina (something akin to Mayberry) there is no television…

What do you do at a sports bar? I get the feeling the last thing anybody does is watch the game…

I had a friend take me to Hooters last year to “watch” the NCAA tournament…Yeah, there was “watching” going on but I have a feeling I was the only one who saw the game…

Stay thirsty my friends…
