Rosemead, Arroyo, Fall in Second Round

Mission Valley League teams Rosemead and Arroyo both saw their seasons come to an end Saturday night in the second round of the CIF playoffs.

Rosemead, which knocked off West Valley at home Thursday night, traveled to Antelope Valley and fell behind by 11 at half time. The Lady Panthers were down by 17 after three and were then buried under a 25 point AV fourth quarter to lose 73-43.

Rosemead finished 20-8 overall, won the MVL title, and has also won 36 consecutive league games.

Arroyo, a 54-31 victor over Fullerton in the round one, managed just three points in the second quarter and trailed Arroyo Grande 34-10 at the break before eventually falling 62-33. The Lady Knights were 18-10 overall and 8-2 in league, good for second place.
