Tartans in San Dimas Tournament Semi’s

Langdon continued strong start to season.

(San Dimas) –  For the second consecutive, Taylor Langdon showcased why the senior pitcher is headed to Division 1 Fresno State with another complete win as Glendora locked down Pool A of the San Dimas Softball tournament with a 4-2 victory over Northview.

Langdon dazzled on the mound after giving up a lead-off homer to Vikings shortstop Sarina Jaramillo as she scattered just two hits the rest of the way in picking up her second win in less than 24 hours.

After falling behind 1-0 after one-half inning, the Tartans rallied with two outs in its own half of the first with back-to-back singles by Alicia Brown and Brandi Wilson before Langdon managed to double both players home for a 2-1 lead.

Northview managed to tie it in the top half of the second inning as Haley Gomez reached on a error and managed to get to third on catcher miscues. Jocelyn Marquez promptly knocked in her in with a single.

The Tartans retook the lead for good in the third after Pavin Argyle singled and was brought home on a Sarah Glenn single to notch a game winning run batted in.

As easily as Glendora found holes on the Vikings defense for singles, Northview couldn’t get both, Sarina or Erinn Jaramillo on track during the ball game as they went a combined 1-for-5 with a home run.

Glendora continued its mastery of the two-out rally in the fourth inning, as Langdon, Nicole Walker and Pavin Argyle all singled. Argyle’s single brought home Langdon for a two run cushion.

Ana Mejia took the loss for the Vikings.
