4.) Former San Marino Titan Stevie Yortsos.

5.) Three time All Star Carlos Guillen (Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers) retires after 14 seasons.

6.) The Mid sends happy birthday wishes to; West Covina quarterback Chris Caballero (18), former WC utility man Charles Tucker (19), former Southman Tommy Cogburn (22), and former Rosemead & Arroyo point guard Teresa Nguyen (Class of 2006).

7.) Former Charter Oak standout A.J. Powell will be a junior next fall at Portland State where he is returning punts and playing wide receiver.

8.) On this date three years ago Mt. View’s Julio Fernandez scored a goal in the 89th minute to give the Vikings a 2-1 CIF title over Warren.
