1. Oakland overcomes a 13 ½ game deficit to win the American League West.

2. Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera wins the Triple Crown.

3. Clayton Kershaw finishes with the best ERA in the Major Leagues at 2.53.

4. The NFL allows Saints suspended HC Sean Payton to attend this Sunday night’s game.

5. The Yankees Curtis Granderson hits two home runs to finish with 43, one behind Cabrera’s 44.

6. The Angels (AL West, 3rd place) have a $159 million payroll. The A’s (AL West, 1st place) have a $55 million payroll.

7. The Washington Nationals finish with the best record in baseball.

8. Gladstone junior linebacker Israel Vega: 17 tackles, 13 assisted, 30 total.
