Wilson 35 Glenn 14

Wilson scored 28 consecutive points to erase a seven point halftime deficit and went on to rout Glenn 35-14 Friday night at home. Josh Nelson recovered a fumble in the end zone in the third quarter for a touchdown to start the onslaught.

Moses Vega ran for two touchdowns and threw for another including a 29 yard jaunt in the first quarter to even the game at seven. Vega also broke off a 28 yard TD run in the second half and hit Keith Hawk on a five yard scoring toss as the Wildcats pulled away.

The Wildcats, who finished 0-10 last year, improved to 2-0 under first year Coach Brian Zavala. Wilson travels to Schurr next week.

Pasadena 19 Jordan 16

Charles Hendricks fell on a fumble with 1:36 left in the contest and the Bulldogs ran out the clock form there to beat Jordan by three. It was the first win of the season for Pasadena and the first for new Head Coach Mike McFarland as the Bulldogs improved to 1-2.

Next week Pasadena takes the week off before beginning Pacific League play with Hoover on October 2.

Workman 14 South El Monte 7

Workman used a strong defense and the running of Kalin Bradford to hold off South El Monte 14-7. The surprising Lobos improved to 3-0 with the win while struggles continue for the Eagles as they dropped to 0-3.

The Lobos will host Montclair next week at La Puente while South travels to La Puente to face the Warriors on Thursday night.

Gabrielino 20 Keppel 17

The Aztecs let a 17-7 lead get away as the Eagles scored the last 13 points of the game to get the three point victory. Evan Bachman hit Edson Pena for touchdown passes of 39 and 25 yards in the first half as Keppel went up ten before Gabrielino bounced back in the second.

The Aztecs had only three possessions in the second half as Gabrielino kept the ball on the ground. Keppel fell to 0-2 with the loss while Gabrielino improved to 1-2.
