Notes From The Big Antoine: UCLA vs. Arizona-First Half

Pasadena – Tonight the Big Antoine brings you some news and notes from high atop the Rose Bowl, as UCLA and Arizona duke it out for lead in the PAC-12 South.

BRUINS ROLLING – despite losing two of their first three games in PAC-12 conference play, the Bruins been on a roll of late, getting wins over Utah and on the road in Arizona State. So far tonight, the Bruins have been unstoppable, scoring six times in the first half while surrendering only a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter, leading 42-3 at the half.

RECORD BREAKER – former Dorsey Don Johnathon “Jet Ski” Franklin became the all-time leading Bruin rusher as he eclipsed former record holder Gaston Green when he ran for a 37-yard touchdown to put the Bruins up 7-0  early on.

CONDOR UPDATE – Former Cal High running back Terris Jones was not on the active roster for the Arizona Wildcats in tonight’s contest against the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl, according to sources with the Wildcats.

Jones, the standout rusher for the Condors, joined the Wildcats as a walk on his freshman year in 2010, joining his older brother Nic Grigsby who was a senior on the team. Although he has not seen much game time, Jones has excelled as part of the Wildcat scout team.

APACHE ACTION – Former Arcadia standout Todd Golper is enjoying another season on the Bruins’ special teams. Last season, the former Apache made his debut against Illinois and saw action in 12 games for the Bruins. So far this year, Golper has seen action in seven games for the Bruins, including tonight, when he saw time when Arizona kicked off, which in the first half was only twice, the opening kickoff and one after the Wildcats got on the board with a field goal in the second quarter.
