Nordhoff has Enough, 13-8

(Compton) –  Tayler Livingston rushed for 198 yards and the defense did the rest as Nordhoff beat Compton Centennial 13-3 Friday night to advance to the CIF Northwest Division Finals.

Quarterback Tanner Workman scored the Rangers only touchdown of the game- a three yard run to cap a seven play, 79 yard drive to open the contest. Later in the quarter Cooper Garcia booted a 30 yard field goal for a 10-0 lead.

Garcia kicked a 47 yarder as time ran out in the first half for a 13-0 Ranger lead at the break.

Centennial didn’t get on the board until the fourth quarter when Nordhoff fumbled deep in its own end. Darrell Hill capitalized with a short touchdown run and Ronlad Reed ran in the two point conversion.

The Nordhoff defense held off Centennial on one more possesson in the fourth quarter and Livingston and Workman chewed up the clock on offense keeping the ball on the ground to salt the game away.

Nordhoff will now play North Torrance for the Northwest title. North knocked off Bishop Diego 28-14 to earn the right to battle Nordhoff.
