  1. The Minnesota Timberwolves routed the Denver Nuggets 115-70 Thursday night to force a Game 7 in the Western Conference Second Round Playoff series Sunday in Denver. 
  2. The Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-98 to win the Eastern Conference Second Round playoff series in five games. Boston will play the winner of the New York Knicks-Indiana Pacers series in the Conference Finals. The Knicks lead the series 3-2. 
  3. Dodgers’ pitcher Emmet Sheehan underwent season-ending right elbow UCL surgery Wednesday. 
  4. South El Monte vs. Oxford Academy, CIF Baseball Division 7 Final, Diamond Stadium Lake Elsinore, Friday May 17 10:00 a.m. 
  5. Former Rams defensive lineman, Michael Brockers, who played last year with the Detroit Lions, announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons. 
  6. The Dallas Mavericks lead the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-2 in their Western Conference Second Round playoff series with Game 6 set for Friday night in Dallas. 
  7. ESPN has fired Robert Griffin III from their Monday Night Football coverage team. He will be replaced by Jason Kelce. 
  8. The 2024 NFL schedule features 9 playoff rematches with 2 coming in Week 1. 
  9. The Rams will open the season September 8 at Detroit in the Sunday Night game on NBC. 
  10. The Chargers will open the season at home September 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
