The Ten

(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1. No modern players are inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame as steroid tainted stars Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa are among the players denied entry.

2. The San Diego Chargers contacted UCLA Coach Jim Mora through his representatives about their head coaching vacancy.

3. Former Dodger Mike Piazza received  57 percent of the votes in his first year of eligibilty. 70 percent is needed for Hall of Fame induction.

4. Nick Saban, who has won three national titles in four years at Alabama and four overall, said that the college ranks is “where I belong.”

5. The New York Jets fire OC Tony Sparano.

6. Laker big men Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill are all out with injuries.

7. Blair, coming off an 0-10 season in football, is 0-12 in basketball.

8. Bell Gardens junior Abraham Rodriguez is averaging 17 points per game.

9. Defending CIF champ Pasadena is 10-4 overall and  3-0 in the Pacific after last night’s win over Burroughs.
