(El Monte)- Baldwin Park came out smoking and never stopped as it took El Monte 35-14 on Friday night.
Braves running back Anthony Moran scored on a five-yard run with 7:42 to play in the first quarter. Six minutes later Moran did it again with a four-yard run and the rout was on.
In the second quarter BP quarterback Manny Salcedo went 33-yards to Jesse Moran. Then 33-seconds before the end of the first half Wardell Crutchfield III scored on an eight-yard run. Bryan Torres added the extra-point and Shazzam it was 28-0 Braves.
El Monte got on the board late in the third quarter when Michael Jimenez turned the right corner and went 24-yards to the south end zone.
In the fourth quarter Salcedo, excellent all night, went 25-yards to Gustavo Lucatero to make it 35-7 in favor of the visitors.
The Lions, hurt by numerous penalties, finished the scoring with 23-seconds left in the contest on quarterback Quang Phong’s one-yard run.
Baldwin Park improved to 4-1, El Monte dropped to 0-4.
