(Glendale)- Burbank (3-1, 1-0) rolled all over Crescenta Valley (2-2, 0-1) 42-14 in the Pacific league opener for both schools Friday night.
On a chilly night at Moyse Field, the Bulldogs handed CV its second loss of the season using a strong running game.
B-Bank opened the game with a long drive capped by Anthony Cervantes 29 yard field goal. After CV fumbled on the following possession, the Bulldogs capitalized with a 38 yard Adam Coleman to Cervantes touchdown pass, ending the first quarter with a 9-0 lead.
The Falcons came up with two second quarter scores. Following a blocked punt, Harry Pessy scored on a seven-yard run, the other coming on a 22 yard corner of the end zone lob from Kyle Cota to Mike Bako.
Burbank’s Leo Rodas scored his first touchdown of the night late in the second quarter on a nine-yard run, making it 16-14 at the break.
CV opened the second half with the ball on its 40 and looked like they were going to take the lead on a 46 yard reverse pass, but it was called back for an illegal man downfield.
After that all the Falcons emotion went down the drain as Burbank took control. They were able to run the ball through CV’s defense. Ulises Ochoa and Leo Rodas each finished the night with over a hundred yards and two touchdowns.
Burbank moves on to play Muir next week, while the Falcons come back to Moyse Stadium to take on Glendale.
