5. Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas will host the first College Football Playoff championship game to be held January 12, 2015.

6. The commemorative plaque honororing Barry Bonds record 756th home run has gone missing from AT&T Park.

7. Dodger pitcher Chad Billingsley will undergo Tommy John surgery today and will be out for the year.

8. Arroyo has won four straight and is all alone in first place in the MVL with a record of 7-2.
