1.) Los Angeles Dodgers RF Yasiel Puig knocks out two homeruns, tallies five RBI, and records his first double in his second major league game.

2.) Puig has his first MLB error in the game.

3.) Yesterday Albert Pujols hit a two-run homer in the 8th to seal a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

4.) The LA Kings have only won one road Stanley Cup playoff game this year, on May 10th in a 3-2 overtime victory in St. Louis against the Blues

5.) Chicago, ESPN reports the Bears will give JaMarcus Russell a try-out on Friday. Russell, the 2007 first-round pick, has been out of the game since 2010 but has been training with Jeff Garcia and has lost over 50 pounds since his release from Oakland.

6.) On this day in 1952 Jersey Joe Walcott beats Ezzard Charles in 15 to retain his heavy weight boxing title. Walcott later served as the chairman of the New Jersey State Athletic Commission from 1974-84.

7.) On this day in 1965 Mickey Mantle hit his 465th home run of his career.

8.) On this day in 1967 the NHL added six new franchises: The Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburg Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota North Stars (Dallas Stars), St. Louis Blues and the long forgotten and non-existent California/Oakland Seals.

9.) On this day in 1981 Nolan Ryan passed Early Wynn as the MLB’s all-time walks leader.

10.) Happy Birthday to the NBA’s Zydrunas Ilgauskas and the NFL’s Marques Colston, Torry Holt (Ret.), and Patriot’s Owner Robert Kraft.
