The idea here is to spark debate, this list isn’t perfect but is based on what we’ve seen, what we’ve been told, and what we’ve been able to measure. The guys at the bottom are in no particular order and with a break here or there could climb to the top.

.) Michael Ball (Jr.), Rowland (4-0): Best four-letter word in the game; B-A-L-L

.) Alex Flores (Sr.), Santa Fe (3-1): Continues to impress.

.) Aaron Cantu (Jr.), Schurr (2-1-1): Nice start, bad tie, this guy is a ladder climber.

.) Travis Santiago (So.), Charter Oak (4-1): Appears the CO job is his.

.) Isaac Valdez (Sr.), San Gabriel (2-2): 9 Tds (7 pas, 2 rush). The center of Mats hopes.

.) Lucas Yanez (Jr.), Burroughs (2-2): Can throw, can run, he leads.

.) George Johnson (Jr.), West Covina (2-3): Took team to semis last year, keeps shutting up critics.

.) Jarron Williams (Sr.), Muir (0-4): Bright spot on young team.

.) Adam Colman (Jr,), Burbank (3-1): In another year, everyone will know how to spell his name.

.) Austin Cooper (Sr.), Walnut (4-0): Triggering Mustangs back to prominence.

.) Evan Bachman (Sr.), Mark Keppel (1-3): The diamond in the rough.

.) Darrian Cazarin (Sr.), Alhambra (3-1): Has played well, will need to play better in Almont.

.) Gus Viramontes (Sr.), Diamond Ranch (1-4): Victim of expectations, still a fine quarterback.

.) Josh Perea (Sr.), El Rancho (3-1): Leading the Dons back to the land of the football living.

.) Jacob Shirley (Sr.), South Hills (2-2): Four have played, three have started, Shirley looks like the last man standing.

Josh Adame (Jr.), Bell Gardens. Aj Pule (Sr.), Hoover. Garrett Tuck (Sr.), Arcadia. Aaron Gomez (Jr.), Wilson. Justin Zamano (Sr.), Los Altos. Dylan Gomez (Sr.), Montebello.
