Abner Mares (26-0-1, 14 KO’s) will battle Jhonny Gonzalez (54-8, 46 KO’s) for the WBC Featherweight Championship Saturday night August 24 at StubHub Center in Carson.
Also in the ring will be Victor Terrazas (37-2-1, 21 KO’s) vs. Leo Santa Cruz (24-0-1, 14 KO’s) for the WBC Super Bantamweight World Championship and Daniel Ponce de Leon (44-5, 35 KO’s) vs. Gary Russell Jr. (20-0, 12 KO’s).
Local fighter and Olympian, South El Monte’s own Joseph Diaz is also on the card.
