Downey QB Jorge Reyna surveys the field against Orange Lu
(Downey) CIF Southeast Division Champion Downey and Orange Lutheran lined up Thursday night for a scrimmage at Downey’s Allen Layne Stadium. Quarterback Jorge Reyna got in some reps and although he threw an interception on a long pass into the endzone early he looked good in leading his team to a score later in the contest.

Running back Justin Huff did not play for the Vikings but Eric Carrillo filled in and broke off some nice runs. Tristian Esparza, Anthony Florido and Anthony Garcia made some plays defensively.
Shrugging off a tackler
Downey opens the season Friday night August 30 at home against Mayfair. The Vikes kick off San Gabriel Valley League play October vs. Lynwood.
“I just can’t wait to get out there and start competing,” Reyna said.
