(La Mirada)- Pioneer Titan quarterback Jonathan Jimenez accounted for six touchdowns, five by air, Thursday night to lead his team to a 44-27 victory over the Glenn Eagles at La Mirada High School.
Jimenez completed 23 of 38 passes for 273 yards and five touchdowns and took his team to a quick 14-0 lead. Glenn would rally and grind behind quarterback Erick Galindo but it was the Eagles inability to stop the Titans passing game, in particular its slant routes, that did them in.
A 25-yard touchdown run by Dominick Enriquez late in the first quarter pulled Glenn to within a touchdown but they would get no closer as Pioneer’s Jimenez riddled them by throwing the ball to six different receivers and scoring throws in each of the quarters.
