Mustang Taeon Mason had three touchdowns and basically made life miserable for the Apaches

(Pasadena) – There were big passes, big runs, big hits and overall just big plays at Muir Friday night or more simply put it was a Mustang blitz in a 48-7 rout of Arcadia in Pacific League action. Before Muir had even a run an offensive play it was already 14-0 Mustangs and only one minute and 12 seconds had ticked off the clock.

This wasn’t a ground and pound type of attack. It was more like a nuclear expolsion. Consider this. Muir scored seven touchdowns and everyone of them was at least 30 yards or more.

***Taeon Mason returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and scored three times overall. He caught a 68 yard pass touchdown from Dejon Williams in the first quarter and also a 56 yard TD strike from backup quarterback Joey Knowles in the third.

***Mason finished the night with four receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns to go along with the kick off return for a touchdown. He also intercepted a pass in the third quarter.

***Williams completed 8 of 14 for 190 yards and two touchdowns and a pick. The senior quarterback also rushed twice for 37 yards.

***After Mason’s TD return, Devonte Cravin had a pick six for 43 yards on Arcadia’s fourth play from scrimmage.

***Arcadia quarterback Joey Harmon had a rough night completing three of 14 for six yards and two interceptions.

***Marceles Clash (headline name) turned a Williams swing pass into a 54 yard touchdown in the second quarter for a 27-0 Muir lead.

***Down 27-0, Arcadia drove all the way down to the Muir 11 yard line where the march stalled late in the second quarter. The Apaches attempted a 27-yard field goal that was blocked and scooped up by Michael Fulton who took it 80 yards the other way to the house.

***Arcadia didn’t score until the fourth quarter when Nico Hiller, who replaced Harmon in the second half, scored on a two-yard run.

***Knowles took over for Williams for Muir in the second half and completed three of three for for 98 yards and a pair of scores.

***Devin Leagons hauled in a 30 yard pass from Knowles with 3:44 left for the last score of the game.

***Arcadia had just 53 yards through the air all night. Taelon Haggerty led the Apaches on the ground with 71 yards on seven carries.

***Muir is in control of the Pacific improving to 5-0 in league and 7-1 overall. Arcadia fell to 3-2 and 5-3.
