1. In a three team trade between the Angels, Arizona and the Chicago White Sox, Mark Trumbo is sent to Arizona, Adam Eaton to Chicago and pitchers Hector Santiago and Tyler Skaggs to the Angels.

2. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is out for the season with a torn ACL.

3. Former managers Joe Torre, Bobby Cox and Tony La Russa are elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

4. Two time Northwest Division champion Nordhoff will play Corona Del Mar Saturday night at Orange Coast College in a State Regional Bowl game.

5. Former Chicago Cub phenom Mark Prior retires after an injury plagued career at 33. Prior finishes his career with a 42-29 record and a 3.51 ERA.

6. Temple City starts the season 2-0 with five point victories over both Maranatha and Northview.

7. San Dimas running back Joseph “The Count” Mayorga rushed for 688 yards in his last three games.

8. Arroyo quarterback Nathan Coto 2013 final stats: 229-360-3327 yards, 36 TD, 9 Int.

9. Monrovia running back Kurt Scoby 2013 final stats: 149-2023 yards, 33 TD.
