1. Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III will be benched for the rest of the year in favor of Kirk Cousins.

2. Doc Rivers’ return to Boston is a success as the Clippers beat the Celtics 96-88.

3. Pitcher Bartolo Colon signs a two-year, $20 million deal with the Mets. The deal comes a day after the Mets announced the signing of Curtis Granderson to a  four-year, $60 million contract.

4. The Dodgers announce they do not plan to trade Matt Kemp.

5. Sources say Texas coach Mack Brown will resign by the end of the week.

6. The Lakers are 0-2 since Kobe Bryant came back.

7. Baldwin Park quarterback Michael Moran 2013 final stats: 221-349-3354 yards, 34 TD, 11 Int. Rushing: 102-385 yards, 9 TD.
