4. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will have ankle surgery with recovery expected to be four months.

5. North Carolina State beats Xavier and Albany knocks off Mount Saint Mary’s in the play-in games.

6. UCLA vs. Tulsa Friday in San Diego.

7. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay checks into health care facility for treatment.

8. Norwalk will play Bell Gardens in week two but is still looking for a week one opponent.

9. Former Pasadena High School star Arness Ikner is now playing for the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football League.

10. Azusa Pacific will be in helmet and pads Saturday April 5 for spring practice.
