“There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own…”—Van Morrison

Kick it!

I hate Fantasy Baseball…

“East-West Hall of Fame Game” is this Friday night, 7:PM, at West Covina High School.

I was sent the La Mirada schedule for this fall. It includes Tesoro, Charter Oak, Servite, and La Habra. Typical Mike Moschetti, always taking the easy road. Then again if this blows up in his face, he might need Tommy John surgery.

At The Circus
“I just want to be known as a football player, not the gay guy.”—Missouri’s Michael Sam at the NFL Combine.

“Sam, selected late in the seventh round, said NFL teams chickened out from drafting him, although he stopped short of saying that his draft stock dropped because he was the first openly gay prospect in NFL history.”—NBC Sports Michael David Smith

If you read the blog by Smith, picked up from an Associated Press story, Sam never once uses the word “chicken” or the expression “chickened out”…But the NBC reporter leads his take on the story with those words.

Dan Patrick this morning reported that either Sam or his agent did not allow ESPN to broadcast anything showing him waiting to be picked, but only allowed the cameras to roll after he was selected. Who else would ESPN do that for?

Don Jones, Dolphins safety, tweeted that Sam’s kiss was “Horrible” & “OMG” and was fined.

“But the Dolphins responded quickly, ordering Jones to pay an undisclosed fine and barring him from team activities until he finishes ‘training for his recent comments made on social media.’”—CNN

Is “training” just another word for “re-education”? If so, send my daughters because they say the same thing whenever I kiss my wife in front of them.

Why did Michael Sam drop to the seventh round? He has “tweener” size, a poor combine, and a circus in tow.

Last Add NFL Draft: Lose the red carpet…It really bugs me. This is the NFL Draft not the Academy Awards or the American Idol finale.

I hear California Chrome might need Tommy John surgery.

Canyon Country, Golden Valley, Burroughs, Arcadia, Verdugo Hills, L.A. Marshall, Eagle Rock, and CV will meet for the “Gordy Warnock Memorial Passing Tournament” at Crescenta Valley High School this Friday afternoon at 4:PM in what will be a two day event. Burroughs, Arcadia, and CV are all looking for new quarterbacks this fall.

Did not know Magic Johnson and Donald Sterling were so tight.

The Ferocious Unfairness of The Universe
Miami Marlins starter Jose Fernandez, the ace on my fantasy baseball staff, is now facing Tommy John surgery while an arsonist, suffering from BLS (Brandon League Syndrome), like Kenley Jansen keeps torching my fantasy team’s hopes. Calgon take me away.

Hall of Fame One More Time: When you look at the rosters the West appears to be outmatched…Still, the underdog role can be fun because you’ve got nothing to lose.

Hall of Fame One Last Time: Sam Edwards. Keep an eye on Duarte’s Sam Edwards, he might be the best player no one is talking about…or even knows about.

If the divisional realignment proposal, I posted last Thursday, goes through a big winner has to be Rio Hondo Prep. The Prep League will come into the Northwest and the Kares (who should change their name to “River Monsters”) will get more exposure for their excellent program.

For the record, I have never, ever, had a problem with the Rio Hondo Prep program. My only beef was the level and teams they played. With an opportunity to step up they can now show what they got. So good for them.

One Olympic League athletic director told me that no one is shedding a tear regarding the departure of the Tri-Valley. I can understand why. I do not know where the Pioneer (North Torrance, Torrance, El Segundo etc.) is going to be placed, but they look like they are gone from the Northwest.

Former Rosemead quarterback Sergio Romo turns 31 today…no word on whether he needs Tommy John surgery.

Finally: I have always been a Dee Gordon fan.

Regards:

In regards to “survivorguy”: I will talk “Survivor” any time, any place, any where. Awesome show. This season is rapidly coming down to who Tony wants to be sitting next to at the end.

In regards to Michael Sam: If he makes the St. Louis Rams roster, may he make life miserable for Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson.

In regards to MaxPreps: Its rotated the football page to 2014.

In regards to Adam Muema: Have the Seahawks signed him as a free agent yet? As far as I know he doesn’t need Tommy John surgery.

In regards to the Kings: What happened?

The Dude abides…
