4. Del Mar Race Track closes turf course after several breakdowns occur (It was installed prior to the beginning of this race meet.)

5. Carpinteria returns no quarterback that played a down last season.

6. PBR Touring Pro Divison in Santa Barbara will feature the last time that Bushwacker will make an appearance in Southern California.

7. Isaiah Ortega-Dage returns for Shadow Hills after running for 667 yards as a junior.

8.  Happy Birthday to former La Salle softball pitcher Allie Forillo

9.  260 years ago today, the first international boxing match was held. The 25-minute match was won when Jack Slack of Britain knocked out Jean Petit from France.
