When Matt Henderson transferred out of Rosemead last summer I started getting the word – “We have somebody better.” I got the message by text, e mail and Facebook. I inquired as to who this might be and was told his name is Michael Sahagun and they call him “Gunny.” And soon we found out it was true. Sahagun had a break through year in 2013 recording over 100 total tackles. He was all over the field from his outside linebacker position and by the middle of the year he had offensive coordinators scheming to avoid him. It was impossible to run to his side and when the ball went to the other side Gunny still was able to track the ball carrier down. He runs a 4.90 40. On offense Sahagun caught 16 passes for 254 yards giving the Panthers another weapon. This year there is no secret. The word is out. Michael Sahagun is a force to be reckoned with.
