(San Dimas) After going down 17-0 in the first half, the Monrovia Wildcats came back to score 17 unanswered of their own in the second half then outscore the San Dimas Saints 7-6 in overtime to win 24-23 Friday night giving Chris Stevens his first win at the helm in Monrovia.
Although these teams won’t battle this year for the Mid Valley Division title, the history between these two teams made for intruige as these two teams have won the last five Mid Valley titles.

***Jordan Nathan was the man of the hour for Monrovia. Jordan caught for passes for 107-yards including a 79-yard bolt to paydirt to tie the game at 17. Jordan also blocked Ware’s extra point in overtime to seal the victory.

***The Saints drew first blood when a seven play 74-yard drive stalled at the Monrovia six. Erick Ware came on a booted a 23-yard field goal to put San Dimas up 3-0.

***San Dimas recoverd the ensuing onside kick and march 48-yards for the score.

***Bobby Rios did most of the damage for the Saints gaining 49-yards on 11 carries with two scores including the overtime touchdown.

***The big boys up front opening the holes for Rios were LT Jonathan Aleriano, LG Youssef Hanna, C Nick Castaneda, RG Matthew Sotelo, and RT Charles Santisteban.

***Asaph Zamora was efficient in his first outing as the quarterback for the Wildcats hitting on 13 of 20 passes for 247-yards and three touchdowns.

***Kameron Johnson was held to 59-yards on six carries.

***Aubrey Mosley played a key role for Monrovia grabbing four balls for 74-yards and two touchdowns. Mosley caught the tying touchdown in overtime for the Cats.

***The bubbas up front leading the way for Monrovia were LT Jason Daly, LG Ty’Sean Brown, C Christian Walton, RG Justin Crutchfield, RT Thomas Ruble

***The Wildcats are on the road again next week against Bonita while San Dimas will be at home to host Los Altos.

Coach Stevens commented on his teams win after the game. “It was sloppy in the first half and we just made too many mistakes but the guys fought hard in the second half and obviously came through in the end.
