(La Verne) – In the first meeting ever between two storied football programs, Monrovia took advantage of a multitude of Bonita turnovers to defeat the Bearcats 35-3.

The Wildcats took advantage of the Asaph Zamora to Octavius Spencer show four times en route to the victory. Zamora finished the evening accounting for all five of Monrovia’s scores and closed out the night 13 of 20 for 248 yards with four touchdowns.

Bonita will have nightmares about their missed opportunities inside the Wildcat 20-yard line as they managed to get intercepted three times and one blocked field goal.

The only bright spot for the Bearcats was Garrett Dean who kicked a 26-yard field goal to cut the lead to 14-3 in the second quarter.

***For the second straight week Jordan Nathan blocked a field goal. He returned the blocked field goal all the way to the one-yard line. Nathan also intercepted Brazille twice inside the 20-yard line.

***Eleven different Wildcats ran the ball for a total of 88 yards.

***Spencer finished the night with a team high eight catches for 180 yards and four touchdowns.

***After three straight interception ending drives, the Bearcats begin to run the ball with success. Much of the rushing is shouldered by Angel Verdugo who finished the night with 67 yards on the ground and 65 receiving yards.

***Bonita finished the night with 312 total yards on 71 offensive plays in the game.

***Bearcat running back Cameron Liscano ran for 46 yards to give Verdugo a breather.

***Kameron Johnson ran for 45 yards on 12 carries.
