1. “There was no coverage on the Notre Dame touchdown.” – Stanford HC David Shaw when asked what the coverage was on Notre Dame’s game winning touchdown last Saturday.

2. “Depth has definitely been an issue and the Glendale loss was not expected. We are dealing with some demographic problems but that wasn’t the reason for the loss. Glendale did a great job and they outplayed us. We are really young up front on both sides of the football – two sophomores and two juniors who are starting their first year. 3. Arcadia’s 28-14 loss to Glendale last Friday night was the Apaches first loss to the Nitros since 1991.

4. Matt Adams belted a three run home run off of Clayton Kershaw and the Cardinals went on to beat the Dodgers 3-2 and eliminate them from the NLDS.

5. USC falls out of the AP Top 20 after losing to Arizona State while UCLA falls to 18 after falling to Utah.

7. San Gabriel, on the field, has been outscored 220-0 in five games. This week the Matadors are at Alhambra.

8. La Puente leads the Mid-Valley Division in scoring with 283 points.

9. Sierra Canyon RB Kaizer Butler stats: 38-481 yards, 8 TDs.

10. On this date in 1927 the New York Yankees complete a four game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 24th World Series.
