Jake Payton is returning home to APU

(Glendora) – Jake Payton, who played his high school football at San Dimas before transferring to Bonita his senior season, has enrolled at Azusa Pacific and plans to suit up for the Cougars this fall.
Payton went to Chadron State and redshirted this past season after rushing for more than 1200 yards and 18 touchdowns at Bonita in 2013, but is now looking forward to APU.
“Yeah I’m very excited,” said Payton who is already going to the school.
The Cougars finished 10-1 last season and won the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a perfect 6-0 record, but were left out of the Division II Playoffs. Spring practice starts in April.
