Isaiah Ramos went five strong to pick up the win for M-Town

(Monrovia) – Isaiah Ramos threw five innings and allowed just one run while striking out seven to lead Monrovia to a 3-1 win  over San Marino Friday in Rio Hondo League action.

San Marino got a run in the second to take the early lead but Monrovia tied it with one in the third and took the lead with two more in the fifth. Nick Garcia walked to force in one run and Eric Herrera singled in another to give the Cats the two run advantage. With Ramos keeping the Titans at bay that was all they needed.

Brian McConnell worked the last two innings to pick up the save. McConnell struck out three.

San Marino had just three hits on the afternoon as did the Wildcats. With the victory Monrovia improved to 14-3 overall but more importantly 4-0 in the Rio Hondo. San Marino dropped to 8-7 and 1-3.

 

Temple City 7 La Canada 4

The Rams got a strong pitching performance from Paul Kasanavich and Kevin Chavez to beat La Canada 7-4 Friday. Chris Rabine, batting leadoff for the first time went 2 for 3 to lead the offensive charge.

TC is one game behind Monrovia in the Rio at 3-1 and 8-4 overall. La Canada is 1-3 and 4-11.
