1.  American Pharoah wins the Belmont Stakes to become the first horse in 37 years to complete the Triple Crown.

2.  After knocking off previously unbeaten San Dimas in the CIF SS Division III semi-final, Walnut loses to Redondo Union 10-0 in the final.

3.  The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors 95-93 to even up the NBA Finals series 1-1.

4.  The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 Saturday to tie the Stanley Cup Final series at 1-1.

5.  The L.A. Kiss get their first win of the 2015 season beating Portland 52-40.

6.  Former Dodger pitcher Kevin Gross (who pitched a 2-0 no-hitter against the San Francisco Giants in 1992) turns 54 today.

7.  The Angels have dropped five straight and sit in third place in the AL West 5.5 games behind Houston.

8.  On this day in 1955 the Dodgers option pitcher Tommy Lasorda to make room on the roster for Sandy Koufax.

9.  The U.S. Women’s Soccer Team begins group play today in the FIFA Women’s World Cup taking on Australia.
