1. The Dodgers acquire pitcher Mat Latos and first baseman Michael Morse from the Marlins for three minor league pitchers. The trade also involves the Atlanta Braves who will send left-hander Alex Wood, closer Jim Johnson, reliever Luis Avilan and minor league infielder Jose Peraza to the Dodgers in exchange for minor league infielder Hector Olivera, minor league pitcher Zach Bird and reliever Paco Rodriguez.

2. Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry is returning to the practice field less than eight months after a cancer diagnosis threatened to derail his career.

3. Phillies ace Cole Hamels is traded to Texas for six players including prized catching prospect Jorge Alfaro.

4. Mexico is looking for a new soccer coach after Miguel Herrera is fired for allegedly assaulting a television commentator at a Philadelphia airport.

5. The LA Galaxy and goalkeeper Jaime Penedo have agreed to part ways. The 33 year old Panamanian was placed on waivers Tuesday after Penedo requested a change of scenery.

6. Troy Tulowitzki hits a home run and two doubles while driving in three runs in his Toronto Blue Jays debut.

7. Kaka and David Villa both scored to lead the MLS All-Stars to a 2-1 win over Tottenham Wednesday night.

8. The Dodgers overcome a three run deficit with a five run seventh and go on to beat the A’s 10-7.
