Game Night Mid Valley Division: Week One

All game times 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.

Thursday Night

El Monte (0-1, 0-0) at Schurr (0-1, 0-0) at Montebello High School.
The Lions put up 30 on Montebello last week in the loss while the Spartans only managed six against Bonita. It will take a couple more week for Schurr to find their identity under Ramos.

El Monte 42 Schurr 14

Friday

Temple City (0-0, 0-0) at Arroyo (0-1, 0-0) The Mid Valley Classic.
The game hasn’t been much of a classic in recent years as Arroyo has dominated the game since 2008. The year might be a little closer but not much.

Arroyo 35 Temple City 21

Rosemead (0-1, 0-0) at Diamond Ranch (0-1, 0-0)
Diamond Ranch’s Davion Gaise was held to 37 yards last week but the Diamond Ranch defense was stout only allowing seven to South Hills. The Rosemead air attack look good but the running game will need a better showing Friday.

Diamond Ranch 24 Rosemead 20

California (1-0, 0-0) at Bell Gardens (1-0, 0-0)
The Condors look better in the second half against Gahr once they decided to pound the ball. The Lancers pounded the ball all night against Arcadia for the win. Bell Gardens will pull out a physical victory.

Bell Gardens 35 Cal 24

Northview (1-0, 0-0) at Montebello (1-0, 0-0)
The third time in two years that these two are trading paint. Both teams looked solid in their victories last week. Give the Oilers the slight edge of home field turf.

Montebello 30 Northview 28

Covina (0-0, 0-0) at La Puente (0-1, 0-0)
The Colts open up against a La Puente team who was less than impressive in the debut of head coach Erick Williams in the loss to Sierra Vista. Covina’s Eric “Pooh” Williams won’t make things an easier for the Warriors.

Covina 35 La Puente 14

Paraclete (0-1, 0-0) at Dorsey (1-0, 0-0) at Rancho Cienaga Park
The Spirits travel south for their annual matchup with the Dons. Paraclete will need to put up more than the 12 the scored last week to keep this one close. Not a lot of depth on this Spirit squad and it will show.

Dorsey 42 Paraclete 23

Maranatha (1-0, 0-0) at San Dimas (0-0, 0-0)
The Minutemen put 44 point and 347 yards rushing on the board last week. Don’t look for the same numbers against the Saints. It’s now the Holman era now in San Dimas but there is still a lot of talent in the cupboard.

San Dimas 30 Maranatha 20
