La Canada (1-0) at Salesian (1-0)

More questions than answers in this game. Spartans are looking to continue their strong start against a Mustangs team that dismantled Muir. Salesian will have to be more offensive if they want to defeat a disciplined La Canada squad.

La Canada 21 Salesian 20

South Hills (1-0) at La Habra (1-0)

Biggest question mark for Huskies isn’t on defense as they shutout DR last week its whether their offense will get going. They face a real tough test with the Highlanders who dispatched El Toro 41-7. South Hills is young and this might end up getting out of hand in La Habra’s favor, but it may make the Huskies stronger in the long run.

La Habra 49 South Hills 7

Burbank (1-0) vs Ayala (0-1) at Burroughs HS

Another Central Division foe, another good barometer for Burbank. Jake Kelley and Darnell Williams are the real deal for Burbank. They could slow down the game. Defense is tough for Burbank. Ayala was shutout by Chino Hills and had no offensive threat. Could be in for another long night.

Burbank 35 Ayala 7

San Gorgonio (1-0) at Kaiser (0-0)

Spartans have a balanced offensive attack. The Cats will try and avenge last season’s loss. Heavy dose of Joshua Johnson will help stem the San Gorgonio attack. Defense will be key for Kaiser.

San Gorgonio 28 Kaiser 7

Bonita (1-0) at Monrovia (0-1)

Bearcats quarterback Tanner East threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns in their win against El Rancho. Now must face a defense in the Wildcats that were humbled by Burbank. Discipline problems for Monrovia led to three scores in their loss against the Bulldogs, but offense didn’t look in sync. If Bonita gets comfortable early and defense rises to the athleticism of the Wildcats could be another long night for Monrovia.
