Don't let the numbers fool you, WestCo's Chris Solomon is an excellent ballplayer

“We’re not gonna get rid of anybody! We’re gonna stick together, just like it used to be! When you side with a man, you stay with him! And if you can’t do that, you’re like some animal, you’re finished! We’re finished! All of us! “

Good Afternoon!

T-Minus-272 Days Until the “Mid Valley Classic”

Questions have come in regarding Temple City and the huge hits they’re taking along the offensive line this June…Two names surfacing are a pair of “Bubba” sized underclassmen in Bobby Soto and Michael Bassette…

Who’s the next thousand yard back at TC in 2010?

The new look Valle Vista League, while stronger, will bring changes. The league will have seven schools next fall. Ganesha gets booted to the Montview as Wilson joins from the Miramonte along with Nogales from the San Antonio.

This means the Smudge Pot (Smudgepot?) contest between Bonita and San Dimas will be moved to Week One… In one sense that’s good, in another sense its brutal because of the emotional weight of this game.

Nogales, which in 2001 was 5-5 and 2-3 in the Sierra League, has to be the most excited about leaving the dreaded San Antonio League. The Nobles in eight San Antone seasons went 15-65 overall. Now the clincher… They were positively Keppel like in going 1-31 in league from 2002 thru 2009… Hello Valle Vista!

The Yankees get Javier Vasquez…again. How long has this guy been in the Majors? It seems like be broke in with Joaquin Andujar.

Name to remember this offseason (you won’t want to be caught off guard come next September): Rosemead tailback, Matt Fregoso.

I haven’t seen a team fold like the Chicago Bulls last night, since the 2008 New York Jets…

Who was the Jets quarterback in ’09?

Wasn’t it just a matter of time before Brett Favre reverted to being Brett Favre, THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON ON THE TEAM…

I understand latitude, I understand leeway, I understand giving a great player a wide berth, I understand giving your best player the best parking spot…Not saying I agree, just saying I understand…But as a coach/organization you create a monster and that monster will come back and bite you when it wants its way…This is the biography Brett Favre has authored for himself…Every coach & GM along the way has helped create the Favre Monster…and until the Packers put their foot down two years ago the Favre Monster had never heard the word: “No.”

Sunday night Brad Childress attempted to remind all who the coach is and the Favre Monster turned on him…You get what you pay for… Minnesota Viking fans, players, coaches…may I introduce to you the real Brett Favre.

Hey? Who’s talking neck out there about His Arroyo Baldness being in the Mid Valley Sports doghouse? Other than wrecking our plans for the second round of the playoffs that dude’s alright.

Last Add Fregoso:… I think he has some big dudes returning on the offensive line.

Props to WestCo HC Mike Maggiore for clearing up the fact that while Bulldog Chris Solomon might have been a super-soph in 2009…he didn’t pick off 14 passes as indicated on MaxPreps…Still expect Solomon to dominate off-season threads, and the gridiron next fall…He’s a ballplayer.

You have to love the Mid-Valley Division for more than just its name… You can safely say from one year to the next ten, or more, schools have had a shot at making a title run… In the last two seasons legitimate consideration could be given to Paraclete, Whittier Christian, Arroyo, Rosemead, Temple City, Monrovia, Azusa, San Dimas, Baldwin Park, and Northview

Making that argument for the Southeast is a tougher sell…

Last Note: In case there was a mix up in names in regards to the passing of WestCo assistant coach Bill Dunn… For the west part of the valley who is familiar with another Bill Dunn, I can tell you the “Case God” is alive and well, and still spewing vengeance from his computer on the lousy drivers living in Temple City.

Stay thirsty my friends…
