FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

Glendora (2-0) vs Los Altos (3-0) at Citrus College

Big test for both clubs. Matt Fink and Andrew Montano will try and wear down Los Altos. In two games the running game has excelled with 323 yards and two touchdowns. The Tartan defense has given up 21 points in two games. Tyler Nevins continues to impress rushing the ball for the Conquerors. Andrew Garcia has four sacks to start the season for Los Altos.

Tesoro (2-1) at West Covina (1-2)

Titans schedule has been pretty tough with Edison, Mater Dei and Upland with the only loss coming against the Monarchs. The Bulldogs have just as tough a schedule to start the season with losses to Colony and St. Francis. West Covina played defense well in all three games, in their two losses they were worn down before they were tired.

Chino (2-0) vs Ontario (3-0) at Montclair

This game could end quite quickly. Da’creh West has run for 421 yards and four touchdowns. Andrew Almazan has three rushing touchdowns for the Cowboys. Cameron Poe runs for 446 yards and nine touchdowns to start the season for the Jaguars. Jason Lara has run for 235 yards to start the season.

Summit (2-0) vs Alta Loma (2-1) at Miller

The premise for the Skyhawks is to just put enough points on the board to survive. They have been averaging 48 points a game but have been giving up 31 points a game. Defense is the name of the game for the Braves who have given up just 16 points a game.

Alta Loma 21 Summit 7

Damien (1-1) at Claremont (3-0)

Duy Tran-Sampson is running wild in the San Gabriel Valley. Already has 554 yards and six yards at the beginning of the season. Justin Smith is second on the team with three touchdowns and 124 yards. The Spartans have a balanced attack with Dylan Thigpen leading the team with five rushing touchdowns. Warren Bryan has thrown for 384 yards and one touchdown.

La Serna (2-1) vs South Hills (1-2) at Covina District Stadium

Huskys offense is MIA in the last three games. With only 14 points in three games the biggest issue is the lack of offense with 220 yards average. Andy George took a difficult situation and has gotten the Lancers off to a good start. If anything La Serna is playing tough defense and keeps games close. All three of their games have been decided by three points or less.

Crescenta Valley (1-1) at La Canada (2-1)

Many aren’t giving the Spartans a chance in their annual renewal. Spartans only loss was against the Mustangs who didn’t pull away until late in the game. La Canada’s Ryan Breneman has already amassed 383 yards and five touchdowns. Falcon two prong running attack of Brandon Beardt and Tyler Hill have scored five touchdowns. Nobel Leduc has three sacks.

Crescenta Valley 35 La Canada 14

St. Francis (2-0) at Monrovia (2-1)

It might be a long night for the Monrovia defense. The Wildcats finally found an answer to their offense with Lawrence Spicer and the return of Asaph Zamora. The problem is that Monrovia’s defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone. The Golden Knights have the fastest player on the field in Jasher Foster who can outrun most defenses. Areg Nazarian is a bruising running back.

St. Francis 49 Monrovia 21

Kaiser (1-1) at Valley View (1-2)

Both teams have been victims of Cajon. Joshua Johnson leads the team in rushing with three touchdowns. The Eagles counter with Justin Keeling who is averaging 200 yards per game and four touchdowns.
