Central Division Game Night: Week Six

All games are 7:00 p.m. Unless otherwise indicated

Friday, October 9

RIO HONDO
Temple City (2-3) at San Marino (5-0)
Maybe if Don Roberts, and one of the Wagner brothers (Herman or Antonio) had some eligibility left this would a two touchdown game. As it is…Welcome to Fright Night!
San Marino: (CalPreps, 62-3) 71-6

La Canada (2-3) at South Pasadena (5-0)
Quite a few third place marbles are on the line here along with a date to play Kaiser or Charter Oak in the first round—on the road. Very contentious game a year ago because of all the video drama… The Tigers first five opponents are a combined 8-18. The Spartans first five opponents are 11-14. CalPreps likes SP…So do we.
South Pasadena: 20-12

MT. BALDY
Chaffey (5-0) vs Ontario (4-1) at Montclair
Chino runs and Chino blew out the Jaguars, does anyone know what the Tigers do? Let’s see they’ve passed for two touchdowns and Mikey Dean has rushed for 21 touchdowns…Mmm?
Chaffey: 48-20

SUNKIST
Kaiser (3-2) at Colton (2-3)
The Cats don’t have a passing game. It is literally Josh Johnson & The Miracles. The good news? The Yellowjackets don’t have much of anything. Our advice to their fans is to start drinking heavily.
Kaiser: 52-15

Summit (5-0) at Grand Terrace (2-3)
The SkyHawks are unbeaten and GT is barely getting its feet wet in competitive football. Summit has one concern…Kaiser. This one shouldn’t be close.
Summit: 45-14

PALOMARES
Diamond Bar (4-1) at Ayala (1-4)
Totally understand what people are seeing here. D-Bar against a bruising Ayala squad that loads up with tough opponents…Yeah, that’s true. Hughes Corporation goes belly up against the Bulldogs. If they don’t? Marcus Hughes is Coach of The Year.
Ayala: 30-7

Claremont (5-0) at Bonita (5-0)
Personally, I’m very pro-Wolfpack but they usually end up breaking my heart. So in what is literally a toss up game, I go with the Bearcats. Mainly because I like passing better than running…in this case.
Bonita: 27-17

HACIENDA
Chino (5-0) at Charter Oak (4-1)
Great start for the Cowboys…the Ceniceros Effect is taking hold, but check back in two years before you give them a ‘W’ over the Chargers. CO is electric!
Charter Oak: 49-10

Diamond Ranch (4-1) at West Covina (2-3)
Panthers are playing ball, they’ve surprised some people, but I don’t think they’ll be able to cross the Maggiore Line. Bulldogs defense hardly inspires memories of Maurice Dupleasis, but it is still a WC defense
West Covina: 18-10
