1.) The Angels remain 1/2 game behind Houston for the second AL wild card spot after David Murphy’s walk off single beats Oakland 5-4 Monday night.

3.) Norwalk alum, San Diego State standout Rashaad Penny returns kick-off 100-yards for a touchdown on Saturday against Penn State.

4.) The Dodgers Clayton Kershaw goes against the Giants Madison Bumgarner Tuesday night in San Francisco with an opportunity to clinch the National League West. Los Angeles has lost four in a row and eight of its last ten.

5.) APU WR/RB Tarik Myles caught two touchdown passes from Glendora’s Chad Jeffries in the Cougars rout of Dixie State on Saturday night in St. George, Utah.

6.) Yogi Berra defeats Pope Francis 68% to 32% in MVS poll on who you would most like to talk to.

8.) Chaffey running back Mikey Dean has rushed for 1,415 yards and 21 touchdowns through five games for the undfeated Tigers. Dean has cleared 300 yards in a game three times, two hundred yards in a game twice, and is averaging 11.1 yards per carry.

9.) The NCAA will announce on Tuesday that it has banned SMU from the 2016 postseason and suspended Larry Brown for 30 percent of this coming season. The penalties stem from an NCAA investigation into whether members of SMU’s coaching staff helped former McDonald’s All-American Keith Frazier with the coursework he needed to become eligible to play for the Mustangs…SMU is Brown’s third college coaching stop. His first two were at UCLA and Kansas, and he led both schools to the NCAA finals. He won the NCAA title with Kansas.
