Lam-Sanity! Aztecs Muzzle Tigers

By Corey Kwok

(Alhambra) – Ethan Lam made 7 of 8 from the field and had a game-high 16 points for Keppel, which proved too much offensively, defensively, and physically for South Pasadena in a 60-34 nonleague victory Monday night.

The Aztecs rolled out to a 7-2 lead before a Ray Arismendez three and Matthew Schultz bucket drew it even at 7-all, but the Tigers never threatened any closer afterward.

The Aztecs kept kicking clear comfortably, yielding single digit quarters in the first (7), second (8), and fourth (8) to the Tigers.

South Pas was led in scoring by Arismendez with 11 points. Lucas Fox tabbed eight and had a game-high eight rebounds, while Jaylen Park (6 points, 3 rebounds), Schultz (6 rebounds), Alex Nakagawa (2), and Ben Kent (1) rounded out the balance.

Todd Kitagawa provided perimeter power with four 3-pointers for the entirety of his 12 points.

Nelson Muronaka added 10 and Kenneth Zhang (6 boards) had 8, and filling the rest of the Aztecs’ scoring were Matthew Tan (6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals), Bryant Chow (3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists), and Nick Fong (5 points), who was a huge factor in helping fuel the Aztec offense with seven assists and seven rebounds.
