With most of the area teams officially starting league play next week, it’s time to bust out the Top 20. Montebello has stunned everybody winning 17 of its first 18. South Hills looks like the class of the San Antonio and La Canada is playing like…well…La Canada. What’s gotten into Baldwin Park?     

 1. Montebello (17-1) – Antonio Worthy and Andrew Torres leading Oiler resurgence.

2. South Hills (11-3) – Nice non league wins over Bonita, Baldwin Park.

3. Bonita (14-3) – Big game with CO this week.

4. La Canada (12-3) – Mike McGlashan averaging nearly 14 points per game.

5. Baldwin Park (14-1) – Loss to Huskies only defeat so far.

6. Charter Oak (11-4) – Ready to make a run at Miramonte title.

7. Keppel (13-3) – Justin Young is a force in the paint.

8. Crescenta Valley (12-3) Falcons have won first three in tough Pacific.

9. Burbank (12-3) – B-Bank on five game streak heading into league.

10. Pasadena (9-5) – Bulldogs roll over Arcadia.

11. Nogales (11-6) – Nobles could give South Hills a run.

12. Walnut (9-6) – Aubrey Coleman averaging 10 points, 11 boards.

13. Northview (10-7) – Brian Johnson is lighting it up.

14. Temple City (10-7) – Rams bury Monrovia under a barrage of threes.

15. Los Altos (9-8) – Up and down Conquerors have split last six games.

16. Arcadia (8-7) – Do Apaches have enough to sail in Pacific?

17. San Dimas (8-7) – Chris Barbato is the go to guy.

18. San Gabriel (11-5) – After early season struggle, Mats have won nine straight.

19. Whittier (8-8) – Sam Gamboa shooting 57 percent from the field.

20. La Serna (8-9) – Lancers have rebounded from rough stretch to win five of last seven.
