1. Former Norwalk/Idaho running back Elijah Penny signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent.

2. Northview quarterback Steven Comstock receives his first offer from the University of Idaho.

3. Former Temple City O-Lineman and current part time Mid Valley Sports staffer Josh Ouellette joins the Buena Park staff as a line coach.

4. Crescenta Valley and Charter Oak are both hosting passing tournaments this Saturday.

5. Former Los Angeles Laker forward Jim McMillian passed away Monday at the age of 68. McMillian replaced Elgin Baylor who retired early in the season, and was the third leading scorer on the 1971-’72 Lakers team that had an NBA record 33 game winning streak and won the franchise’s first championship.

6. The Lakers land the number two overall pick in the NBA draft lottery. Philadelphia got the number one pick with Boston, Phoenix and Minnesota at 3, 4, and 5 respectively.

7. Mary Star of the Sea at Temple City, today 3:15 p.m. – Division 5 Wildcard.

8. Former Detroit Tigers second baseman/IF Dick McAuliffe passed away last Friday at the age of 76. McAuliffe spent 1960-1973 with the Tigers and 1974 and ’75 with the Boston Red Sox. He won a World Series with Detroit in 1968.

9. The Indiana Pacers promoted assistant Nate McMillan to head coach. McMillan replaces Frank Vogel who was fired earlier this month.

10. Happy Birthday to “Mr. October” Reggie Jackson who turns 70 today.
