1. Yasiel Puig was claimed by an “unknown team” off of waivers but the Dodgers won’t trade Puig to that team and he will remain with the organization for now.

2. The Pittsburgh Steelers claim quarterback Zach Mettenberger off waivers from the San Diego Chargers.

3. The NFL has cleared Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews and James Harrison in Al Jazeera PED investigation.

4. Former Monrovia/St. Francis quarterback Miles Bryant received Player of the Game honors for Alemany in Week Zero. Bryant completed 11-16 for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions in the Warriors 42-12 win over Garfield. Bryant also rushed for 66 yards.

5. 28 of 30 MLB teams sent representatives to see Tim Tebow’s workout at USC on Tuesday. Only the Chicago Cubs and Oakland A’s were not represented.

6. Andrew Toles belts a grand slam in the ninth inning as the Dodgers overcome a six run deficit to beat the Rockies 10-8 and get a split of a doubleheader.

7. With Teddy Bridgewater injured, Shaun Hill (36) is now projected to be the starter for the Minnesota Vikings.

8. Former USC Athletic Director Mike Garrett, who held the same position at Cal State LA, had a lawsuit filed against him in Los Angeles Superior County Court Monday alleging that he sexually harassed female employees at Cal State LA before he retired earlier this year.

9. “They played well. We did not. Our inexperience really showed and our QB was hurt on the first series of the game. Time to regroup and get ready for La Salle. No where to go but up.” – Monrovia assistant Jacob Ochoa on the Wildcats loss to Burbank.
