High School Girls Basketball Top 20

Crazy week for the Mid Valley 20 as Crescenta Valley appeared to be on their way to a Pacific co-title after defeating Muir on Monday, only to lose to Pasadena on Wednesday.   That was followed by Pasadena Poly’s upset loss to Chadwick after defeating Flintridge Prep.

This week will see Rosemead, Alhambra and Whittier attempt to clinch league titles.

1.  Diamond Ranch (21-2) – Panthers nearly doubled up on Bonita to take Miramonte title.

2.  La Canada (21-6) – Lady Spartans win RHL title for the first time since 2005-2006.

3.  Alhambra (19-4) – Moors are closing in on a Almont League title.

4.  Bonita (21-3) – Bearcats are 21-1 against teams not named Diamond Ranch.

5.  Bishop Amat (17-6) – Lancers loss to Bishop Montgomery not helping to get a good seeding.

6.  Crescenta Valley (20-5) – Falcons win big against Muir, then get upset by Pasadena.

7.  Walnut (19-4) – Close to putting an exclamation point to dominance in San Antonio league.

8.  Rosemead (17-4) – MVL title is theirs to lose.

9.  Muir (15-7) – Mustangs should send “thank you card” to PHS.

10.  Glendora (18-5) – Tartans could solidify second in Sierra with upset win over Ayala this week.

11.  South Hills (17-5) – Huskies looking for a piece of the San Antonio League title.

12.  Sierra Vista (18-5) – Just demolished the Montview League enroute to title.

13.  Covina (17-7) – Colts regain Valle Vista title by playing defense.

14.  La Salle (16-7) – Pre-season credentials should payoff in playoffs.

15.  Pasadena Poly (17-3) – Panthers played three games in five days and dropped one to Chadwick.

16.  Flintridge Prep (17-6) – Rebels need help to be co-champs of  Prep League.

17.  Duarte (15-6) – Falcons quietly put together a good season.

18.  Whittier Christian (15-8) – Heralds starting to roll at the right time.

19.  Whittier (16-9) – After a slow-start Cardinals have Del Rio League title in sight.

20.  Pasadena (13-10) – Bulldogs pull off upset.
