(Alhambra) – Montebello ran out to a 30-0 lead after three quarters and settled for 30-12 rout of Alhambra Friday night at Moor Field.
Gabriel Tapia completed 7 of 18 for 99 yards and two touchdowns for Montebello and he also had 14 carries for 38 yards and scored on an 18-yard keeper. His touchdown run in the third quarter gave the Oilers a 23-0 lead. Montebello had 218 yards rushing and 317 yards in total offense.
For Alhambra Dominic Wilson was five of 23 for 118 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Dylan Araiza caught two passes for 95 yards including 42-yard TD from Wilson.
The Moors had 190 yards overall and were held to just 72 yards on the ground. Alhambra fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the Almont League. Montebello is 5-1 and 1-0.
