Alhambra Wears Down Mats

(Alhambra) – Alhambra overcame a slow start and finally came alive in the second half to beat San Gabriel 22-6 Friday night at Moor Field.

Lu-ring Paialii led the Moors with 254 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 17 carries. He scored on runs of 40 and 55 yards late in the third quarter give Alhambra a 15-0 lead. He added an 83-yard in in the fourth quarter.

Julien Garcia scored on a two-yard keeper in the fourth quarter for the Moors final score. The Moors had 334 yards on the ground and had 382 yards overall.

Alhambra improved to 3-4 overall with the win while the Matadors dropped to 2-5.
